John 21

This Sunday May 10th, DNA will be meeting in 5 different locations. The Deverill, Critchley and Davies homes will host intergenerational groups. Discussions will also take place at the George Hotel on High Street and Costa in Culver Square. In preparation, please have a look at John 21 and consider the questions below.
Enoch spoke at dna last week about the issues of Sorrow, Fear and Doubt, each of which was mentioned as an experience of Jesus' followers in John 20. For most of us, Sorrow, Fear and Doubt don"t disappear in an instant; we usually need many encouragements to proceed into joy, faith and confidence.
“That"s scary!”
“I could never manage that!”
“I"m not good enough.”
“My hopes and dreams are dashed.”

• What are some of the other statements that are spoken out of sorrow, fear or doubt?
• What are some of the issues and experiences that cause sorrow, fear and doubt in our society? We all face sorrow, fear or doubt quite often during our lives; this story demonstrates something of the empowerment, healing and love shown by Jesus to the sorrowful, fearful and doubtful.
• Promise-keeper: Jesus met the disciples in Galilee as He had promised.
• How does Jesus keep his promise to us now? Have you ever known a promise of Jesus come real in your life? If so, tell a story of how that happened.
• Practical helper: Jesus lit the fire, cooked the breakfast and pointed out where the fish were biting.
• Bearing in mind that “the Body of Christ” on earth consists of the community of Jesus! followers, how does Jesus encourage us in practical ways today?
• Purpose-giver: despite the fact that Peter had let Him down badly, Jesus still had a job for him to do.
• How does Jesus communicate his purpose to us today?
